Day 2 - Madness

So after sleeping for about 5 hours or so, we set about to go out again.  This would be the first time going out while it was day.  Thank god Jon and Annie know their way around or else i would be so fucked.  There are seriously 100000000 people out and about and even though most signs are in English as well as Chinese, I dont think i would be able to make it around on my own..yet at least.

We bought these dumpling things that only cost like 20 cents each.  1 made a perfect breakfast, 2 more would be a meal.  Thats a meal for 60 cents! After the dumpling, we jumped on the MRT, the Taiwanese subway system.  We did a little toiletree shopping and then headed to NTU.  Jon and Annie studied abroad there so we visted their old dorm, climbing to the roof for a nice panaramoic view of the city.  We walked around campus for a while looking for a bathroom to go poo in, but the one we did find had a guy with mega squirts diherea.  There was no way i could sit next to him without laughing so we left.  

Ok so here is then things got interesting.  We went to this  place to get our haircut.  EVERYONE in there was in some sort of costume like it was freaking haloween.  There was also a TV crew and champagne for everyone.  Our stylist then gave us what was called the LUXEE SPECIAL.  She knew we were gonan go to some club called luxee for the night and shes said she'll style our hair appropriateley for the night. She ended up just giving us all really big hair.

Sweet Jesus we are finally here.  It took us about 24hrs to here here but we made it!  We left early to the LAX...a little bit too early maybe.  There were NO LINES whatsoever so we basically had to sit in the terminal for 3 hours or so.  Having my luck of course, I had to go through the extra TSA security points - ,-.  WHY DOES THIS ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME!!!!!

Our trip worked like this:

LAX -> TOKYO -> TAIPEI

On our way to Tokyo, we sat next to a family of young girls.  One was a 8 year old named Rachel.  Annie sat next to her while Jon and I were an isle over.  She watched us all play Brain Age Academy together on our Nintendo DS.    It was a lot of fun!

Once we arrive in Tokyo, there was some confusion on how to do the international connection, but we some how made it alive.

And finally, we made it to Taiwan.  The first order of business was to get as drunk as possible so we would not be as get lagged.  We played and drank at a Darts Bar.  It was seriously a lot of fun!!

I will let some pictures speak of my adventures.  I will also be hosting an online Photo Album for more pics of our adventures!

When I leave

Hey guys,

So here it is.  My 2.5 week long blog attempt.  My sisters pretty much convinced me to make this to track my progress whilst in Taiwan.

I leave on December 18th and return January 4th.  

This is the first real vacation I have taken ever.  My mother used to take me on random FOB tour bus trips to the Grand Canyon and Yellowstone.  At the time, I though it really sucked but now realize just how much fun I actually had on those adventures.  The last time I left the country I was in 7th or 8th grade and it was a trip with my mother (big surprise) to Korea.  I guess at that age, we really aren't free to do what we really want to do.

So now at 25 years old, I can finally see what the hell is out there.  I was originally planning on going to Thailand with my roommate KC, but was convinced to go to Taiwan (Sorry KC, I love you!!! No homo).  As much as I love going on adventures, hiking, and seeing lady boys, I decided on Taiwan as I just want to relax and do as little work as possible.  I've worked my ass off through college and then worked my ass off at work for a total of 6 years of ass working.  I just want to rest.  

I am not so much a stranger to Taiwan as one would believe.  I am going with a roomie, Jon Hom, and his GF, Annie Chii.  They both lived abroad over there for school and came back to America with a pretty good understanding of the Taiwanese way.  I am regularly going out to eat with them at Taiwanese restaurants as well as being in situations surrounded by Taiwanese people.

Also, by chance, several other friends will be there!

So this is the end of entry one.  I'm still in the US and pretty much CAN NOT WAIT to hop on the plane!

I promise the next entries will be more entertaining with pictures, and better writing.
